Wales Water Framework Directive Stakeholder Group
In 2007 the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) established a Wales Stakeholder Group for the Water Framework Directive. This group has two main roles:
This is not a decision-making body. It is WAG chaired and Wales shaped.

On 01 April 2013, Natural Resources Wales took over the work of Countryside Council for Wales, Environment Agency Wales and Forestry Commission Wales. It has also taken over some of the work of the Welsh Government.

Natural Resources Wales is now the lead authority in Wales for the Water Framework Directive.
